Beyond AI is a pan-African civic platform whose mission is to help African societies understand and govern artificial intelligence. Anchored in Accra and convened by Aether Strategies, the initiative brings together citizens, policymakers, technologists, researchers, and cultural actors through monthly public forums, practical workshops, a podcast, and a dedicated newsletter on digital governance.

Nyansa Futures is its centrepiece: a two-day annual conference held in Accra, bringing together 100 to 200 in-person participants and thousands online. It gathers in a single space actors who rarely share a room — government officials, regulators, startups, artists, researchers, civil society, and young innovators — to produce concrete policy recommendations, cross-sector partnerships, and a shared continental narrative on ethical and inclusive AI.
